Cogeneration
The Quintessential
ROI Application
How It Works
Our system uses a natural gas-fueled engine to generate electricity, hot & cold water twice as efficiently as the grid.
Electricity is fed from our machine
into the building, reducing the building’s electrical consumption and utility bill. At the same time, free “waste” heat is recovered and used to offset fuel that would otherwise be burned in the site’s water heaters and boilers. This allows the site’s boilers to work less so the site’s gas bill (e.g., for space heating, domestic hot water (DHW), process hot water, pool heating, etc.) is also reduced.
Benefits:
- 50% reduction in utility-related operating costs.
- 50% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions normally associated with electricity and hot water production.
- Cuts gas usage and gas bills in half
- Save on electricity, demand charge reduction
- Ultra-low emissions with near zero criteria pollutants
- Compact size; fits through a standard doorway
- Immense carbon savings, reduce your facility’s environmental impact
- Real time monitoring
(In the U.S. cogeneration systems are eligible for up to a 40% Federal Investment Tax credit.)

Our Customers Say:
Tyler Hannegan and Brad Rhodes, co-founders of Robust, a Missouri cannabis greenhouse were recently interviewed by MMJ Daily. The partners said, “For example, we’ve added a Tecogen system, which is a natural gas chiller system with CO2 recapture. This is a great solution for us, as natural gas is more efficient than electric cooling or wind/water cooling. Overall, this new system allows our facility to function with the climate control capabilities of the best indoor grows in the country while simultaneously optimizing our efficiency and drastically reducing our overall energy demand compared to a more traditional operation.”
Getting Started
Use our power consumption analysis tool, developed over years of experience by adding different customer needs and specific requests.
The tool allows us to insert 12 months of electric and gas bills for an accurate custom analysis. Alternately, simply with the utility rates in your area and a couple of high-level assumptions regarding run hours we can create an estimate your energy savings and ROI.
With your approval we then prepare a quote for the equipment and installation.
